The Annex is a Leopard 58 catamaran.  This catamaran features an expansive flybridge, seating for 10 people to enjoy panoramic views while sailing or lounging. For your many spectacular meals on board, there is a large open aft deck and forward cockpit for alfresco dining and relaxing.  All these areas are covered with TekDek simulated teak.  The inside of the yacht is spacious and open with light wood highlighted by aqua blue accents and crisp light luxury linen.  Then master suite has a queen bed surrounded by large windows allowing you to absorb the views of the Caribbean waters.  There is forward leading doors to allow access to the master cockpit to enjoy a private drink in the sun while relaxing on your lounge chair.  There are 4 other equally as stunning spacious queen cabins or a twin cabin. The Annex’s crew, Shane & Anne actually share the same birth date, grew up in different places and met in South Africa. They sailed together over 6000 miles to the Caribbean and began chartering. Captain Shane is a qualified experienced captain and is known for his DJ skills. Anne was a competitive figure skater as a child, frozen water turned into stunning Caribbean water as she became a passionate chef and a magnificent hostess.  Just married in the beginning of 2017.

We walked on board and there was a bottle of champagne chilling with snacks and appetizers waiting for us. Shane Taylor and Anne van Riel were waiting for us with smiles on their faces ready to show us a good time!!! AND THEY DID Honestly, Shane and Anne were 2 of the nicest people I have ever met in my life!! So full of energy; willing to assist you in whatever you wanted. But, more importantly, just nice honest people. We spent many hours during the charter just getting to know them and their background. I would look no further for a crew for another charter in the BVI or elsewhere. And, if I ever have the opportunity to buy a yacht with a crew, Shane and Anne would be my first choice for a crew.

The best surprise was getting you two as our crew. Edward's birthday celebration was above and beyond the best ever! Anne your meals were fantastic and Shane's cerative drinks were anticipated daily. Your professionalism and knowledge of the BVI made every stop a wonder. Your hospitality was heart felt and we wanted for nothing. We look forward to sailing with you again in the near future. Until then hope to see you in New York. Overall this charter was above and beyond our expectations. For one of the couples it was their first charter and for the rest of us it was a repeat. Our Captain Shane was very knowledgeable in all aspects of our journey. He also had mad bar-tendering skills, always coming up with great new drinks. Anne prepared fabulous meals which never disappointed. Their cheerful personalities were contagious and the perfect weather all added up to a very restful and enjoyable week. Can not wait to sail again 🙂

What was going to be our trip of a lifetime is now our..."when can we sail again" vacation. We LOVED everything about our adventure and were so glad that Shane and Anne were our crew. The fact that we didn't have to make a decision for 7 straight days and we were taken to a more beautiful place each day was certainly the highlight. We asked for an active vacation and were given the perfect balance of activity and relaxation. We would recommend the The Annex and Shane & Anne to the most discerning guests. It was an absolutely PERFECT experience from start to finish!! We left with great tans, fabulous pictures, a lifetime of memories and 2 new, dear friends! The Annex - Crew


Shane and Anne are a young, enthusiastic couple who will ensure you feel comfortable and at ease on board. They share a love and passion for the ocean and also share the exact same birthday. Born hemispheres apart, they met in South Africa and sailed together over 6000 Miles from Cape Town to their new home in the Caribbean. These two are a professional and hard working team who enjoy living life to the fullest.

Shane was born in Cape Town and started sailing when he was 12 years old having gained experience in the waters across Cape Peninsula. He completed his RYA Yachtmasters and proves to be a competent and experienced yachtsman. Before getting his Captains license, Shane studied advertising and has done courses in photography and cocktail mixology. He has worked many years as a Water Sports instructor by day and a DJ by night. Shane and Anne crewed together on the 40m yacht Nautilus.

Anne is originally from the Netherlands and has lived in the English countryside as a child. At the age of 5 years she moved to Cape Town, South Africa. During her school years she competed as a Figure Skater. When she was 18, she packed her bags and moved to the busy city of London and worked in one of the most popular hostels in the city. After studying Marketing she worked at the Hilton Hotel in Cape Town. Always having had a passion for water, she quickly developed a love for sailing and used her administrative and hospitality skills to become the sole Chef/Stew of a luxury motor yacht out of So. Africa. Anne loves cooking and trying new recipes to add to her culinary skills and happy to accommodate vegetarian, vegan and specialty diets.

Together, Shane and Anne use their passion for wining and dining, cooking, entertainment and sailing to provide an unforgettable holiday in one of the most beautiful parts of the globe.

  • Grilled Asparagus- Warm fresh Asparagus served with a Smooth Hollandaise Sauce and Parmesan Shavings
  • Oven baked Creamy Garlic Mushrooms, Crumbed and topped with Cheese. Served with French Bread
  • Seared Scallops with Pea Puree and Shallot Vinaigrette

  • Cannelloni- Oven Baked Spinach and Ricotta stuffed Cannelloni tubes covered in a Garlic, Tomato and Basil Sauce, topped with a Classic Béchamel and Parmesan.
  • Beef Fillet Medallions with Red Wine Reduction- served with Dauphine Potatoes and Legumes
  • Grilled Mackerel- with Bay Leaf and Lemon Sauce served with Roasted Red Peppers and a Bean, Ricotta and Mint Salad

Meal service on an inclusive yacht is tailored to your preferences, but meals are prepared for the entire group. Some limited substitutions may be possible, but not separate meals for each member of your charter group. Some food and drink items requested may not be available in your charter destination although every effort will be made to track down your requests or its equivalent.
